American Baptist Men of New York State
The mission of American Baptist Men of New York State is to bring men into a vital relationship with Jesus Christ; to encourage men to practice their ministry at home, at work and in their community; and to strengthen the spiritual life of men through shared fellowship, caring study, and prayer.
ABMen work together to design service programs and projects that utilize men’s gifts in ministry; encourage men to join in unison with their pastors and/or area church leadership in shared ministry; develop basic skills which men can use in their ministries; and help clarify men’s role and identity in today’s world. The Carpenter’s Apprentice – A CPCBC Men’s Ministry Team.
Elderly and physically challenged congregants living in their own residences have a continuing need for minor maintenance and small repairs to their property. Some have limited ability and funds for these needs. As a way of supporting one another in love, teams of men will respond to these needs, following the men’s breakfast on the first Saturday of each month. Funding is provided by the Board of Deacons through the Fellowship Fund.
Our Carpenter’s Apprentice Ministry team responds to local needs such as flooded basements. We continue to explore other possibilities for disaster relief, often in cooperation with American Baptist Men of New York State and the disaster relief trailer we helped construct.
We served those in need, in these areas:
“For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God—not by works, so that no one can boast. For we are God’s workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.” Ephesians 2:8-10 (NIV).
