WelcomeOn Sunday, May 4th, we welcomed the Rev. Dr. William Tatum to Clifton Park Center Baptist Church as our Interim Pastor. "Pastor Bill" comes to us from Lexington, Kentucky. In his undergraduate days, he felt God's calling to be a pastor and, after graduating from Virginia Wesleyan College in 1975, he went on to attend Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary where he received his Master of Divinity degree in 1978, his Master of Theology degree in 1982 and his doctorate in philosophy in 1989. Pastor Bill was ordained by the Cradock Baptist Church in Portsmouth, Virginia, in June 1978.
During the past 28 years, Pastor Bill has served as pastor in a variety of settings including churches in rural as well as urban areas of Virginia, Kentucky, and North Carolina. Several years ago, he became interested in and felt a calling to serve in Intentional Interim Ministry. Upon his completion of Interim Ministry Training at the Center for Congregational Health in Winston Salem, North Carolina, he served as Interim Pastor for four congregations in Virginia, most recently the North Star Church Network in Annandale. In his role as our Interim Pastor, Pastor Bill will serve as a facilitator and consultant to our congregation in its transition to a new pastor. We welcome him and look forward to his guidance as we move forward. The Deacons |
