Karen Anderson, Teacher 3 year olds
My
name is Karen Anderson. I live in Rexford with my husband and
four sons. Our family also includes one dog, two cats, one
horse and a rabbit. I graduated from Maria College, in Albany,
with an associate’s degree in Early Childhood Education. I went
on to spend five years as head teacher in an infant room at a
local day care center. I took a few years off after the birth
of my first child and went back to teach four years olds in a
co-op nursery school. Since the birth of my twins I have been
an at home mom. My youngest son is in the pre-k program and will
be off to kindergarten next year. I am excited to be back in the
classroom. -- Mrs. Anderson
Kathleen Kruk, Teacher,
Pre-K
Hello! My name is
Kathleen Kruk and I am very excited to begin my second year
teaching at the Clifton Park Center Baptist Pre- School in the
morning Pre-K class. I am looking forward to seeing many
familiar faces and meeting many new families.
I have been married
for 15 years this October and I am the mother of four wonderful
children. Three of which are graduates of the Pre-school and one
who is just beginning. I have a Masters Degree in Education from
the College of Saint Rose and I have taught in several different
capacities in the Shenendehowa School District from 1997-2000.
For the past seven years I have worked as a Creative Memories
Sales Consultant at the Unit Leader level. During this time I
have taught scrapbooking basics to school age children through
after-school programs as well as to adults enrolled in
Continuing Education classes. This position has enabled me to
have more time to become involved with school programs and
activities in which my children have participated. In addition I
have also spent my winters on the slopes of Willard Mountain
teaching young children how to ski.
Teaching has been an
extremely rewarding and meaningful experience and I am looking
forward to continuing my teaching career at the Clifton Park
Center Road Pre-school and getting to know all of you and your
children.
Christopher
Burgess, Assistant

Burgess is a Shenendehowa CSD graduate. He began working with 1st

Vicki Vanderveen,
Assistant
Hello!
My name is Vicki Vanderveen. When I am not assisting in the
morning Pre-K, I can usually be found at home with my seven
blessings, ages 6 to 16. Our children come to us through birth,
adoption, and Divine Intervention. My husband, Larry, and I are
certified foster parents for the county. In addition to
teaching little people, I teach big people: prospective foster
and adoptive parents for Saratoga County Department of Social
Services.
Originally
from Mystic, Connecticut, Larry and I moved to Middletown,
Connecticut, after graduating from Bryant College. Life and
Larry’s government job brought us to this area, nearly a decade
ago. We enjoy going back to the shore to visit when we can.
I am very
active at Christ Community Reformed Church, where I sit on
several committees and teach Sunday School. My husband is also
a deacon there, and our oldest daughter is preparing for her
second mission trip (this one to Kiln, Mississippi to help
rebuild after Hurricane Katrina).
Until
recently, I was a stay-at-home mom. During that time I was
hardly idle, I authored “The Music in Your Brother’s Name”
(Writer’s Club Press, 2001) -- a book about parental grief --
and contributed to several newsletters and newspapers.
Each day
in the Pre-K is an adventure. The children's enthusiasm is
infectious. I probably learn far more from them each day, than
they do from me. I look forward to meeting you and yours in the
coming years, too.
“Train up a child in the way he should go
and when he is old, he will not depart from it.”
