Bible Studies
Three study groups meet regularly on a weekly
basis from September June in the Fellowship Hall. They are:
Evening Bible
Study
7:30 9 p.m.
Tuesdays, September
June
This group of men and women come together to
study Gods Word, discover His principles and apply them to daily
living. In addition to using the Bible as our major text, selected
materials are used to help clarify and bring better understanding to
the topics or themes that are class chosen. The meeting is followed
by a time of refreshment and fellowship.
The
Tuesday Evening Bible Study
New members are welcome but please contact Marie
Schilling at 373-9673 if you plan on attending that night. Our
theme will be Bible Study as it relates to Personal and
Spiritual Growth.
Womens Bible Study 9:30 11:00 a.m.
Wednesdays
This group meets on Wednesdays to study Gods Word, to encourage one another, and
develop our own personal spiritual gifts. Several people will share
in leading discussions. Each study will have both participants and
leaders guides. Everyone who attends will be doing outside reading
and reflecting time so that our study time together can be a
discussion of our personal experiences with the material.
To Live Is Christ - the Life
and Ministry of Paul
I was greatly affected by the study of Pauls
life in many ways; but above all, I sense like never before a
quickened awareness of the personal calling God has placed on my
life. I feel a renewed sense of my purpose in Gods plan. I am
praying for you to have the same response
These words by Beth Moore are about her video
study of Paul which the Wednesday morning Bible Study will begin
on Sept. 6. Beth leads a Bible Study in Houstons First Baptist
Church. Nearly 3000 women attend! Some travel 200 miles to
eagerly await the Tuesday night session which begins with
rousing worship. Jesus is the focus and Beth Moore is gifted,
fiery, funny and passionate about Jesus.
Come join us as we learn about the apostle whose
passion for Christ was indomitable. Are you ready to be
challenged by his Spirit-breathed words? Bring a friend! We
meet on Wednesdays from 9-11:30 AM.
Childcare
is provided.
Men's Bible Study
9:00 a.m. Wednesdays, September - June
Focus on the Family's The Truth Project®
In a recent
study, the Barna Research Group revealed a stunning statistic that
continues to reverberate throughout the evangelical world. Only 9
percent of professing Christians have a biblical worldview.1
Because of
this, today's believers live very similarly to non-believers. A
personal sense of significance is rarely experienced, we spend our
money and time on things that fail to satisfy and we begin to wonder
what life's ultimate purpose really is. We are, in short, losing our
bearings as a people and a nation.
To counter
this slide within the body of Christ, we are launching one of the
most ambitious and powerful projects in the history of our
ministry—Focus on the Family's The Truth Project.
The Truth
Project is a DVD-based small group curriculum comprised of 12
one-hour lessons taught by Dr. Del Tackett. This home study is the
starting point for looking at life from a biblical perspective. Each
lesson discusses in great detail the relevance and importance of
living the Christian worldview in daily life.
We believe
this one project represents the possibility for exponential change
within the body of Christ, as we expect that thousands will be
transformed by this curriculum. As it has been throughout history,
God continues to call ordinary people to make an eternal difference
in our world.
We invite you
to be a part of this cultural change by participating in or leading
a small group of your own. Contact us to learn how you can
get involved in Focus on the Family's The Truth
Project!
